Organize a Food Drive

Guidelines for a Successful Food Drive

Organizing a food drive is such a meaningful way to make a difference.

We’d be honored to support you! I’ve detailed below our Food Drive Guidelines, which include helpful details like what to collect, how to package donations.

  • Any time is the right time to help. While most food drives happen during the holidays—from Thanksgiving through Christmas—hunger knows no season. Spring and summer drives are just as needed and always welcomed.

  • Whenever possible, please use large banana boxes to collect food—these sturdy containers make sorting and delivery much easier. The Pantry has boxes available and can deliver them directly to you. Just let us know how many you need.

    • Canned meats (e.g., Spam, beef stew, tuna, chicken)

    • Canned vegetables

    • Canned fruits

    • Boxed pastas

    • Peanut butter

    • Jelly
